Warranty & Repair Policy

At Durham Phones, we take pride in the quality of every repair we carry out. This Warranty & Repair Policy outlines the coverage, conditions, and limitations that apply to all repair services and device purchases. By using our repair services or purchasing a device from us, you agree to the terms set out below.

Repair Warranty Coverage

All repairs completed by Durham Phones are covered by a limited warranty. The warranty period varies depending on the type of repair carried out and will be clearly communicated to you at the time of service. The following repair types are covered under our warranty:

  • Screen replacement
  • Battery replacement
  • Charging port repair
  • Water damage repair
  • Software and software-related issues
  • Other hardware repairs

What the Warranty Covers

Our repair warranty covers:

  • Recurrence of the exact fault that was originally repaired
  • Defective parts used during the repair
  • Workmanship errors made by our technicians

If the same fault reoccurs within the warranty period, Durham Phones will re-examine and re-repair the device at no additional cost.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Our warranty does not cover the following:

  • Physical damage, cracked screens, or liquid damage occurring after the repair
  • Faults unrelated to the original repair
  • Damage caused by unauthorised third-party repairs after our service
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Devices that have been modified, jailbroken, or rooted after repair
  • Lost or stolen devices

Device Purchase Warranty

Devices purchased from Durham Phones are covered by a limited warranty as communicated at the time of sale. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and hardware faults present at the time of purchase. It does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, or faults resulting from misuse after purchase.

Repair Process

When you bring your device to Durham Phones for repair, the following process applies:

  • Step 1 — Free Diagnosis: We assess your device at no charge and identify the fault before any work begins.
  • Step 2 — Quote & Approval: We provide a clear, transparent quote. No repair work begins without your approval.
  • Step 3 — Repair: Our certified technicians carry out the repair using quality parts.
  • Step 4 — Quality Check: Every repaired device is thoroughly tested before being returned to you.
  • Step 5 — Collection: You collect your device with full confidence, backed by our warranty.

Data & Personal Information

Durham Phones is not responsible for any loss of data during the repair process. We strongly recommend that customers back up all data before submitting their device for repair. Any personal information visible on the device will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Uncollected Devices

Devices that remain uncollected for more than 30 days after the repair has been completed will be subject to a storage fee. Devices left uncollected for more than 60 days may be disposed of or recycled, and Durham Phones will not be held liable for any loss arising from this.

Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim, please contact us within the applicable warranty period with your original repair receipt. Our team will assess the device and determine whether the fault falls within the scope of the warranty. We aim to resolve all warranty claims promptly and fairly.

Limitation of Liability

Durham Phones’ liability under this warranty is limited to the cost of the original repair service. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from a faulty repair or device, including but not limited to data loss or loss of income.

Changes to This Policy

Durham Phones reserves the right to update this Warranty & Repair Policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date.
